The Assistant Center Director supports the Center Director in overseeing the daily operations of the Fuller Center Campus. This role Assistant’s in ensuring effective administration, supervision of staff, and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Additional responsibilities include managing health and safety protocols, maintaining compliance with licensing requirements, fulfilling contractual obligations, and ensuring high-quality programming and activities. The Assistant Center Director also represents the Fuller Center within the broader community, fostering positive relationships and promoting the organization’s mission (if needed).
Education/Experience:
B.A/B.S in Education, preferably Early Childhood Education and/or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood. Administrative credential is favored, but not required. At least 3 years of experience involving direct experience with young children (from birth to five years old). Supervisory experience is preferable, but not required.

Five hour Early Literacy and Language Course
Ten hours Behavioral Observation and Screening Course
Ten hours Special Needs class
25 hours of in-service training per year
Language Skills:
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional documents or technical procedure,
written in English, the ability to type reports and input data in English, and the ability to effectively communicate in English.
Responsibilities:
Communicate regularly with Center Director, Coaching Coordinator, Family Support Services and Health Coordinator, and regarding personnel and compliance of programs.
Establish and maintain educational and recreational program for the Centers and methods for carrying them out, assure compliance with curricular and age-appropriate practices as instructed by Early Learning Coalition, and other supporting organizations.
Report daily to the Center Director or as needed.
Orient, train, and supervise the teaching staff at Florence Fuller Centers.
Evaluate teachers of Florence Fuller at the Center annually.
Assist the teaching staff with classroom practices such as daily schedules, room management, routines, and evaluation of children’s progress and behavior.
Coordinate with teachers’ field trips and educational activities for the children.
Submit to the Center Director for approval all orders for instructional materials; work with budgetary guidelines established for the respective department.
Attend educational conferences with the Center Director’s approval.
Assist the Volunteer Coordinator in training volunteers, designating their places of work and make special efforts to incorporate and encourage parents of our children into volunteer work. The services are supported by Social Services.
Coordinate meetings with parents, when necessary, in conjunction with the Family Services Specialist, Family and Health Services and Social Services Department.
Establish and coordinate trainings with Mentor Coach.
Coordinate the CDA Program to meet licensing Apple accreditation with the according directors.
Plan and implement CLASS and School Readiness trainings and other trainings requested by staff.
Represent the Center to the public at large, to parents, and to every visitor or volunteer.
Monitor the classrooms, the playgrounds, and the children’s meals regularly in the morning and in the afternoon in conjunction with the Family Services Specialist.
Assist the Educational Coordinator and teaching staff at the Florence Fuller West Center.
Deliver pre-service and monthly in-service training sessions to teaching staff.
Perform other job-related activities as needed or directed.
